About the Author

John M. Del Vecchio is a Vietnam War veteran and the author of the book "Charlie Company: The American Experience in Vietnam." Del Vecchio served with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor and the Purple Heart.

Del Vecchio has been a vocal advocate for veterans' rights and has worked to raise awareness of the sacrifices made by the men and women who served in Vietnam. He is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion.
