About the Author

Hal Moore is a retired U.S. Army officer and author. He is best known for his leadership of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment in the Battle of Ia Drang in Vietnam. Moore's actions during the battle were the subject of the book and movie We Were Soldiers Once... and Young.
